It's official! From November 8th, travel to the US for fully-vaccinated travellers is allowed! We've all missed our trips across the pond, so now that we can finally travel there, it's time to get excited.
Whether you've already planned your trip or are just starting to think about it, there's never a bad time to start working out the tests you need and any vaccination requirements.
Read on to find out how you can make your testing to travel the USA simple and stress-free.
If you're fully vaccinated and travelling to the USA, you need a Fit to Fly test before departure.
For all travellers aged over two years old, evidence of a negative Covid-19 test is required. The test type can be a PCR, LAMP or rapid antigen test/lateral flow and must be taken no more than three days prior to departure. The test you choose must have received FDA approval.
The USA entry requirements differ from other countries because tests taken at home/self-swab must be taken under supervision - this can be video supervision. Alternatively, the test must be administered in person by a healthcare professional.
So, you have two options: a) find a remote testing service with video supervision where the test is approved for travel to the USA. b) find an in-person testing service where the test is approved for travel to the USA.
Option b can be quite expensive and may require you to travel to a clinic. However, for option a, you're in the right place!
Qured's rapid antigen test/lateral flow is FDA approved and valid for travel to the USA. Order it in advance of your trip and follow the instructions to book your video consultation. It's supervised over video with a trained Health Advisor, so on the day of your test, they'll walk you through swabbing correctly and submitting your results. After uploading your results, you will receive official and verified travel documentation in just 2 hours!
Once you have your results, you can simply download and present your certificate when asked. Our certificates also integrate with VeriFLY; if you're travelling on airlines such as British Airways or American Airlines, you can upload it there for an easy and smooth check-in experience!
Qured's Antigen Fit to Fly test costs £29. This includes the cost of the test (£22) and the video consultation (£7). We're always trying to give our customers the best possible value, so check with your airline; they may have a Qured discount available!
Our test is the ACON Flowflex Rapid Antigen test. You can check the FDA approval here.
If you order before 1:30 pm, Monday to Friday, we dispatch your kit on the same day for FREE. Alternatively, if you're in the M25 and need your test fast, we offer a next-day courier service (when ordered before 6 pm), seven days a week, for those times when it just can't wait.
You'll only need one test when you arrive back home from the USA. Now that the rules have changed, fully vaccinated arrivals can use a Rapid Antigen/Lateral Flow test for their Day 2 test.
Again, our Rapid Antigen test is valid for Day 2, so you can order two and take one when you get back home. You won't need a video consultation, but you can choose that option if you feel that the supervision will be helpful.
This means is that your round-trip testing will cost less than £60!
We can't wait to get back to the USA, but if you have any other questions or queries, we're on hand 24/7 via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or phone (03330164411).
