On 18 December 2021, France imposed a ban on all British travellers entering the country, unless travelling for a compelling reason - of which tourism is not. However, as of 14 January, this ban has now been lifted.
Fully vaccinated British travellers can now enter France for tourist activity, visiting family or friends or embarking on a business trip. Fully vaccinated is currently considered to be double-jabbed with Pfizer, AstraZeneca or Moderna, or a single Janssen dose. However, adults who have had their second jab over seven months ago must have proof of a booster vaccination.
Travellers must provide proof of a negative Covid test result (either lateral flow or PCR) taken within 24 hours of departure to France. Qured’s Fit to Fly Rapid Antigen tests are valid for entry and give you official results in just 2 hours! From £22, free shipping included.
Whilst British travellers who are vaccinated against COVID-19 can enter for whatever purpose, including tourism, the UK remains on France’s red list, meaning unvaccinated travellers need to present a compelling purpose of entry in order to be permitted in France. This can be done by filling out an ÉOS passenger form - which will state the purpose of the trip to France and the address where the traveller is planning to stay. Upon arrival in France, a strict quarantine period of ten days must take place.
Fully vaccinated travellers no longer need to take a pre-departure test before returning back to the UK. You will need to book a Day 2 Rapid Antigen test, which can be taken on the day you return (Day 0) or the following two days - Day 2 LFD tests are now available at Qured from just £19.50!
The UK’s rules have not changed for unvaccinated travellers. Therefore, UK travellers who are not fully vaccinated will still have to take pre-departure and Day 2 and Day 8 PCR tests - all of which are available on our website.
